Examples (developer)

The lesson uses a map of example words to improve search relevance. Extend or replace the curatedMedia map below with local file paths or hosted URLs for offline reliability (example provided).

How it works

Input validation (only letters A–Z accepted).
Letter → example-word mapping (A → apple, ...).
Search Wikimedia Commons for images, audio and video using the example word (online).
If curated media is available (local/hosted) and enabled, it will be used first.
If no audio is available, Web Speech API (TTS) is used as fallback.
Visited letters and mini-game stats are stored in localStorage.

Download / Export

Save this single HTML file or use Print → Save as PDF for an offline copy. If you use curated media (local files), package those media files alongside this HTML.
